Rugged Notebooks Inc. has made available the Talon notebook computer, offering five different processor options for applications ranging from light combat roles to heavy equipment field service. The unit's transflective LCD display is easily read in direct sunlight and the keyboard is spill resistant. Equipped with both a top and bottom lightweight protective magnesium plate, the unit can withstand vibration and shock. In addition, both the LCD screen and the hard drives are shock mounted to isolate them from punishing blows and vibrations. Optical disk tray lock prevents unintentional tray eject from drop and vibration. Talon is affordable for those whose computers consistently undergo rough treatments at airport security check points.
